2024 | Theatre Performance
In November 2024 I had the pleasure to collaborate with Tingyi Jiang during her residence at iii where we worked on a show presented at Flipchart #17 – Am I Live?
For this work I have been producing on Ableton Live a soundtrack combining a recording of Tingyi’s speech with sampled prepared piano sounds that create a dystopic, mechanical atmosphere with a rigid metronomic pulse interrupted by slight glitches. We also recorded a song and I performed live playing the Suona (traditional Chinese instrument) combining it with live electronics. Here some samples from the soundtrack:
